Over the weekend, one of the side laterals on my electric wheelchair broke.
This is what a side lateral looks like:

They help me with my body posture.
But that’s not the point of this post.
The point is, when something breaks on my chair it can take a long time just to get the part. Then it takes even longer because you have to schedule an appointment so a repairman/woman can come out and fix it.
Now my wheelchair can stand and lay almost completely flat.
About two years ago, I started sitting down when my electric wheelchair wouldn’t go down any further.
I didn’t know what was wrong, but thankfully I was able to figure out a to get down.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to use my chair because of the way it was positioned.
So I called the company who comes and does repairs, and when they came out they said it was the footplate mechanism.

So it was almost 6 months until they finally got the part. Thankfully I had a backup chair that I used during that time.
So, I’m not sure how long I’ll have to wait for a new side lateral, but at least I can still my electric wheelchair.
Stay positive, stay safe, and spread the gospel.
