Stupid Veins

Hey Racers! I hope you had a great weekend.

I didn’t really see a reason to post anything about my bracelets last night, because I haven’t even completed the Midnight Sun bracelet.

Last Wednesday, I went to the hospital to get the antibody treatment for Covid-19. In order to receive the treatment, you have to get an I.V.. I knew this before hand, so I tried to drink as much as I could.

When it was time for them to try to get the I.V. in, I warned them that my veins rolled. They found a good vein, but as soon as they tied the rubber thing around my arm and went to stick the I.V. in my vein they couldn’t find it. That was the first attempt out of three.

The first attempt was one of the least painful pokes, and even when they were digging, it still didn’t hurt as much as all the other times.

After the first attempt failed, they brought in a ultrasound to help get the needle into my vein. The second attempt hurt a lot more because they were digging up into the muscle – that was the second attempt. Here’s a picture of what my arm looked like yesterday: (second attempt)

Although, the last attempt hurt more, there’s hardly a bruise there. Even with the ultrasound machine, they still had a really hard time. You see from what I heard, everytime they were about to get through my vein, it would move on them.

If you’re wondering if that’s the only time that that has happened it’s not. In fact, one time when I had to get an I.V. put in, it took a total of 9 pokes, and 8 of them failed.

So, sometimes it doesn’t matter how much I drink, they still can’t draw blood or put an I.V. in, without giving me at least one bruise: this is because my veins roll. You could even say that my veins are very stupid.

Stay positive, stay safe, and spread the gospel.

The Lord is my strength and my song; he has given me victory. This is my God, and I will praise him—  my father’s God, and I will exalt him! – Exodus 15:2
