Social media

Hey everyone, happy Friday!

If you’re addicted to social media, then you probably realized that Facebook, Instagram, and what’sapp were offline on Monday.

I hate what social media influences; it makes us feel insecure about our lives and our body images. A fellow blogger, whom I follow goes into more depth of what social media does as far as body image.

I been cyber-bullied to a certain extent, but for people especially young teens. I’ve mentioned this before, I used to post Bible verses on a money making app called Mistplay. But most recently I was attacked on one of my blog posts. I realize that is going to happen, especially when my blog gets bigger, if it ever does.

Anyway, verbal abuse, physical abuse, and cyber-bulling is bad. You know what absolutely breaks my heart is the fact there are people who attack you, eventhough they don’t normally know you.

Honestly, I really believe that almost everything that social media represents is just bad news. Every photo, video, and post has some negative comments attached to it. No matter how perfect you try to be, someone’s always going to find something negative.

So my advice, don’t pretend to be perfect, because in reality no one is, and in my opinion that’s a great thing! Because, when you’re acting like someone else, those people who decide to follow you, they only know that person. If you want to know who your true friends are, be yourself.

I know that’s a hard concept to accept, but if you want real friends then this is the way to do just that. So many teens, are being harassed and bullied, because most outlets don’t do anything about it. It’s not just teens that experience this either, it’s everyone who puts themselves out there.

Why does social media let this stuff happen, well it’s like Beautybeyondbones put it “… in an effort to boost the algorithms’ secret combination for addiction: virality and engagement.” Beautybeyondbones.com

Well, this post turned out to be longer than I expected.

Have a great weekend! Stay positive, stay safe, and spread the gospel.

The Lord is my strength and my song; he has given me victory. This is my God, and I will praise him—  my father’s God, and I will exalt him! – Exodus 15:2
